About
Ashton Howard is a self‑taught American artist from Florida’s Gulf Coast, deeply inspired by the ocean and natural light. He developed a style he calls “Fluid Realism,” blending realism and abstract expressionism to capture the movement and mood of water with luminous precision. Working with acrylics and resin, he pours, layers, and shapes paint into wave‑filled scenes that feel both spontaneous and meticulously crafted. His art evokes the drama of surf, the stillness of tropical horizons, and the emotional pull of nature’s edge. After years as a surfer and muralist in California, Howard returned to Florida, where his coastal landscapes now appear in galleries across the U.S., Canada, Japan, and beyond. His work invites viewers into moments of serenity, reflection, and awe.
