Why Their Work Lives Here

Wall’s exuberant style and celebration of human connection align beautifully with our themes of emotional resonance and storytelling. His commissioned dog portraits are especially meaningful to us — though Jewels Reigns Supreme may never sit for one ($$$), the spirit of those works echoes our love for animal majesty and personal legacy.

About

Daniel Wall is a Chinese‑American artist celebrated for pioneering Intense Impressionism, a vibrant and emotionally charged evolution of traditional Impressionism. Born in 1965 in a remote village in China, he began drawing at age four under the guidance of his mother. After studying fine arts in China, he moved to the United States in 1995 to pursue graduate studies in mathematics and computer science — but ultimately followed his passion for painting. His signature style features bold palette knife strokes, thick textures, and luminous, saturated colors that evoke joy, hope, and movement. Wall often incorporates symbolic elements such as umbrellas, roads, and skies to represent protection, life’s journey, and freedom. Now based in North Carolina, he continues to create emotionally resonant cityscapes, landscapes, and romantic scenes that are widely collected and exhibited around the world.
