Why Their Work Lives Here
Godard’s bold style and cheeky storytelling resonate with our love of humor, emotional resonance, and cultural commentary. His commissioned work for the Las Vegas Raiders stadium is a standout, but it’s his playful approach to fine art that makes him a favorite in our collection. His pieces remind us that art can be both rebellious and deeply personal. We also connect with his philanthropy — especially his support for cancer research and children’s health — and honor the way he channels personal loss, the passing of his daughter from cancer, into generosity and creative expression. His art makes us smile, touches our hearts, and reminds us that joy and resilience can live side by side.

About
Known as the “Rock Star of the Art World,” Michael Godard is celebrated for his whimsical, irreverent paintings featuring animated olives, martinis, dice, and other symbols of indulgence and rebellion. Blending pop culture with surreal humor, his work often hides playful narratives beneath the surface. Godard’s art has been showcased worldwide — from Las Vegas casinos and sports stadiums to cruise ships, hotels, and even the Pentagon’s Officer’s Lounge. He has also collaborated on album covers, slot machines, vodka branding, and custom guitars for Guns N’ Roses. His book Don’t Drink and Draw won Art Book of the Year, and a documentary on his life has earned multiple awards.
Beyond the canvas, Godard is a passionate philanthropist. He has raised millions for causes including St. Jude’s, Make‑A‑Wish, and the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation, often saying that the funds he helps raise save lives — and that is the most important work he does.
